What to have for dinner was just about the last thing on her mind right then. "Yeah, soup...sure." Maybe she really was in shock. Not that she really know how that all worked, but her mind was focused on one thing and one thing only. The lightning. And the fact that said lightning had almost hit her. Thank God for well placed trees. Otherwise she would have probably been laying outside in the snow, somewhere between the park and their house. Injured at the very least and dead at the most, she was sure. It was a scary thought, so it didn't really help her current state of panic. Not at all.
She wasn't lying. He was sure to know that. Ori wasn't the best liar in the world in the first place, and usually you could tell she wasn't telling the truth just by looking at her. But that certain look was not there. And beside just that, she didn't lie to her brother very often at all. She sighed, pushing some of her hair back. "I know it's January, Gideon...and I know there's not supposed to be lightning in January." There was still snow on the ground. It hadn't been storm clouds in the sky, and yet it had happened anyway. "It was lightning, I swear. I can even show you the tree it hit instead of me." She was rather sure it was hard to imagine lightning coming down from the sky. Most especially when you'd seen the bright light and heard the crackle of the electricity because you were so close.
