A soft smile spread on Emily's face when the bell rang, finally the day was over. After her lunch meeting with Johnny she just wanted to go home or actually go see Leti. She was just so mad she actually had scribbled out a poem to calm herself down. It would be an awesome, most likely a rock song. 'Hm, looks like I can write something worthy of a rock song?' With that idea flitting around in her head she made her way to her locker and grabbed her books and her guitar.
Something fell out of her locker, startling her and when she reached down to pick it up she remembered. It was Jacen's presents...she was going to see him today...to tell him goodbye. Her heart lurched as she remembered. God, doing the right thing shouldn't be this hard...it shouldn't hurt this much. Emily decided the best course of action would be to drop her things off at home, freshen up a bit, then make her way over. She had to do this, it was for the best. Especially now, after his journal entry...the hope that she had been so close to smothering sprung to life again. That hope that maybe something could develop between them if she was patient. She shook her head, no, even if he wanted something, they could never be anything. Her stupid power was the reason. Pretty much everyone who knew about her power told her to not cut love out of her life, that she'd learn to control it, it didn't mean the end of everything. Sure, maybe one day she would be able to control it enough to not cause another hurricane or something equally as horrible, but there was no way to guarantee that. Right now she knew she couldn't control it, she couldn't risk it on the off chance that he'd want something with her.
Once she arrived home and dropped her bookbag and guitar in her room she brushed her hair and teeth. Glancing at herself one last time in the mirror, her heart thudded with anticipation. She really didn't want to do this, but she knew she had to. If Jacen did end up wanting something with her and asked her on a date or something...she knew she wouldn't have the strength to say no to him. With a deep breath she began on her way to the Allen home. With each step through the snow she remembered the times she went there in the past. Josie's party, bringing Irulan over to meet Jacen, their Dune weekend, when she ran there after her fight with Evan...when the first met. Emily realized this could be the last time she went to the Allen's. She raised her head and saw the familiar house in front of her. When it normally seemed like a glowing beacon of hope to her now seemed like a fortress that made her heart seize in terror. With another deep breath she made her way up to the front door and rang the doorbell.
