Amelia had to keep the pooch by her side or else he would be running after Markl and following him around until the boy paid attention to him. Plus, she didn’t want his sticky fingers getting all over the dog, all because she would be the one giving him a bath. And she really wasn’t in the mood to do that today.
“Perfect!” She was happy Penny agreed. She started the bouncing in place once again before something came across her thoughts, making that invisible light bulb turn on and shine bright. “I can drop Chewy off first and meet you at your place? I think I remember where you live. It mustn’t be too far from my house, since we both walked.” Her silliness made her laugh, well, snort more like it in this case.
The expression that came over her features was pure confusion, before finally realizing what it was that Penny was talking about then the expression switched to knowing what was being asked with a side of embarrassment; but that didn’t stick around for long. “Yeah, sort of, but it wasn’t because of prom. Still debating if I want to go or not. I highly doubt any guy would ask me,” she laughed after replying, stifling the sound before it died down. Her hand didn’t drop back down to her side until after rubbing her nose with the back of her fingerless glove.
