"And then! I throwed a snowball at the kitties. And then! I runned around. And then! I fell. And then..."
Markl's voice was chipper and high pitched. Ever since he'd learned to speak in mostly complete and grammatically incorrect sentences, there was no force on heaven or earth that could get him to stop. But Penny didn't mind. She loved that he had so much energy and vigor for life. It often put a smile on her face and filled her with hope. And for a moment, she too felt a tiny surge of energy.
"You fell? Did you hurt yourself?"
Markl shook his head. "Nope. I gotted up really fast and then I went zoom, zoom, zoom." He reenacted his running around at the playground, and Penny had to reach out to grab his hand again.
"Marky, you have to hold my hand. There are cars." He settled for a moment but had a spring in his step after that. When Penny looked up, she felt a sneeze coming along and looked away by the time it overcame her.
"Bless you!" said Markl, who was used to this by now. "A PUPPY! NENNY, LOOK! A PUPPY!" And of course, he snatched his hand away to run to the dog.
"Markl!" Penny had been too distracted by the sneeze to even realize who the owner of the dog was.
