Glory honestly wasn't expecting a compliment in return, so when Gio began his sentence she couldn't help but look a little surprised. She unconsciously leaned forward a little, curious to hear what the end of the sentence was, her heart fluttering a little as she predicted its ending. Was it possible that Gio liked her (or at least kind of liked her) the way she was? With the exception of her sister and Dietre, Glory wasn't sure if anyone had ever told her that before.
--But alas, the start of the fireworks cut him off. Glory heard them before she saw them, and the noise made her jump in surprise. She quickly turned her eyes to the night sky, then glance down at her watch. Oh.
"Happy New Year to you too, Gio," Glory responded softly, her eyes fixed on the heavens as they filled with light. She really hoped it would be a better year than the last one.
