Once she'd reached Gio's house, Glory couldn't help but be nervous too. After her mother's comments to her about dating Gio, the prospect of him actually liking her had been haunting her thoughts a little. After much inward debate, Glory had decided that the notion was a somewhat ridiculous one. Sure, he'd gotten her a book, but that was just because he was nice and considerate. She was sure that he just wanted to be friends.
Even so, Glory had followed her mother's advice (if it could be called "advice" and had paid a little more attention to her appearance as she dressed. She still chose something completely casual, so at least she would be comfortable in it. She was shifting nervously from side to side when Gio opened the door, and she immediately returned his smile with one of her own. "Hi!" she greeted, her voice a little more high-pitched than normal in keeping with her level of nervousness. "Yeah. It wasn't really that far. And it's pretty hard to get lost in such a small town."
Actually, Glory hadn't gotten lost anywhere for a long time, now that she thought about it. She stepped inside and shed her coat, hanging it neatly on the rack, just as if she were at home. "So... um... did you have a good Christmas and everything?" This was probably something that they should've covered in their phone conversation, but somehow they'd never gotten around to it.
