There was still something that Rory wasn’t saying. Eisen knew that, but he wasn’t going to press. Not right now. Rory was vulnerable and he knew how it felt to have someone pushing you for answers when you weren’t ready to give them.
He did, however, smile when Rory mentioned that he was ‘the best’ friend. “I do my best,” he chuckled and raised a shoulder in a shrug. “I know that it must weigh on you a lot,” he started, and of course he knew that he was right, regardless of whether Rory admitted it or not. “But I want you to know that you can always talk to me, dude. I may not be able to offer advice, but I’m your friend. The least I can do is offer comfort or lasagna or comfort and lasagna and a reminder that you’re not going to get left behind. Not if I have anything to say about it.”
He thought about Rory’s particular predicament for a second, and his mind fell on Lexie and her apparent healing ability. Was it possible…at all possible for her to be able to heal Rory? He weighed the options in his mind for a second. Did he tell Rory first or did he ask Lexie first? Of course he didn’t want to out Lexie’s talent without her permission, so he decided, for now, just to be quiet. And then he’d ask her.
“So, movies or gaming?” he offered, trying to lighten the air in the room.
