Luke held her close for perhaps just a little longer than was necessary. If asked (which he was pretty sure he wouldn't be) he could rationalize that it was just a warmth thing, but of course his lingering went far beyond that. He remembered - and remembered well - the way it felt to have her form pressed against his. It was as if she were designed to fit there. Easy. Uncomplicated. Ha. As if anything between he and Janey and ever been either of those things.
Luke noticed the less than sincere smile on her face as he pulled away but, for now, he didn't comment on it. It was too cold. Instead, he chuckled and said, "Yeah, it's been pretty crazy right? But I guess the future has the potential to be just a crazy." Especially if other people on this island had powers. There had to be a reason, and as far as Luke could tell, things weren't going to get simpler as more people discovered what it was that they could do. "We'll have to see."
Luke brightened at the mention of his bike and at her desire to see it, the moonlight glistening off his pearly whites. "That's ridiculous, Janey. We have to fix that." He meandered back across the beach to where he'd parked it and said casually, "you could even ride it if you want. I think we need to get out of this cold." The suggestion sounded innocent enough, at least, but just the thought of going somewhere warm with Janey made his heart pound a little.
