WHO: Mal and Nat WHAT: Ice cream, cookies, hot cocoa and girl time. WHERE: Nat’s. WHEN: Backdated to right after Mal’s grumpy post of grumpiness. RATING: Mal has a mouth on her, but otherwise low. STATUS: Incomplete
Generally speaking, Mal hated drama. Lately, though, it felt like she’d been injected with some kind of angst sepsis. Maybe someone had put it in the water, because she wasn’t the only one who appeared to be affected by it. If this was what her brothers had meant when they’d said that boys were complicated and liking boys was even more complicated? She wished she’d listened. She hadn’t, though, so here she was, hot cocoa mix in one hand and cookies in the other as she walked up to Nat’s door.
Raising her hand, she rapped a few times slowly and found herself momentarily wondering if this was a mistake. She’d never been good at girly stuff and ice cream as an emotional band-aid seemed like the girliest of the girly. Still, sitting there and stewing on it was probably the worst thing she could do, and she really didn’t feel like being alone, and definitely didn’t want to rely on one of her brothers here. Besides that, Nat was a good friend. She only hoped that the other girl understood that Mal didn’t necessarily want to talk about stupid boys and their stupid attraction to stupid Lexie Tibbits. She gripped the cocoa container a little tighter in her hand at the thought.
