Although Luke would definitely rather just... "make her forget," (he was sure he'd be better at doing that than he was at this talking shit anyway), Josie hadn't asked for that, and there was no way he was about to force anything on her, particularly given her mood. She'd asked to be held and that's what he'd do. Plus maybe a little light massaging.
"Friends with benefits?" Luke suggested. "This, I think, would count as the 'friends' part." The more Luke hung out with Josie (hell, the more he dated (or pseudo-dated) people in general) the less he liked labels. Why did they need a label anyway? Why could they just... be whatever? Josie seemed cool with it, so what was the point in calling their non-relationship anything at all?
He stroked her hair a little more and began to massage her neck a little, working out the knots as best he could. "Well, you can't be in balance all the time, right? I mean... look Josie. You're siblings, sure, but you're also friends, right? Sometimes friends fight. But that doesn't mean you're not siblings anymore. And it doesn't mean you're not going to be friends again." Damn. That was actually a pretty good point. Maybe he was better at this whole comforting thing than he thought he was.
Luke shook his head at Josie's question. "Nah. I took a shower today. Maybe you smell my shampoo or something." Not that his shampoo smelled terribly good.
