When their eyes met, Mari held it for about half a second before blushing and looking down herself. She suddenly felt butterflies take flight in her stomach, unable to figure out why this was happening now. It was that same giddy feeling she felt every time she had a crush on someone, but she'd never felt it from one second to the next. Then, she figured that it was just Rory, good, ole, sweet Rory, whom she had known since practically forever. Why wouldn't feelings for him develop out of nowhere like this?
She was surprised when he paused the movie but wasn't too upset. After everything she had been distracted with, she could hardly even remember her own name, much less the first Act of the play.
