"Ahhh, perfect balance." Rory sighed. "That's something I never really had. Except in my wheelchair. I learned to pop wheelies pretty fast. 'S a cool trick. A little dangerous, but," he grinned, loving the fact that this particular expression was so popular, "that's how I roll."
He smiled as he watched her taking her tissues. Rory really liked that Mari was excessive, and especially that she was so excessively happy. Her upbeat mood was such a nice change of pace. It wasn't that his brothers weren't usually happy people themselves, but Mari was just so... bubbly. It was refreshing. He turned on the movie and turned out the light on his bedside table, leaving them in semi-darkeness. He paid rapt attention to most of the familiar first scene, but about the time that Kent was reprimanding Lear to "see better," Rory noticed that his own eyes kept being tugged in Mari's direction. Was she as pretty in full light as she was in the soft glow from the television? Has Rory just not noticed? He'd always known she was beautiful, sure, but now she was... radiant.
Rory winced. It was best not to think such thoughts. He tried (halfheartedly) to concentrate on the movie, to think about his paper, but his eyes kept betraying him. Mari was just so pretty...
