Penny turned so that she was on her back. It was a nice feeling, being in a room with someone she could trust. It wasn't often that she came to that conclusion about people, because she felt that no one could be trusted. For the most part though, Annie had proven herself to be a loyal, dedicated friend. She honestly couldn't have asked for a better one. The thing that pained her most was that she couldn't tell Annie everything for her own safety. But the issues that normal (relatively speaking) teenagers dealt with were safe topics to discuss with her.
"Well, hold on to your puppies. This one is going to blow your mind." She didn't actually think it was all that exciting, but it was a rare thing to see Penny Zimmerman spilling one of her deep dark secrets to someone. "Do you know Sebastian Sullivan? He works at the paper. I've known him for a while. He's nice." Penny could feel her heart thumping in her chest. Even if this was just Annie and just a silly teenage thing, she couldn't help but feel nervous about it all. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly before saying, "I think I'm in love with him."
