The walk there wouldn't have been too bad, but since her Vespa was still relatively new, or at least she had purchased it while Luke was MIA, she felt like driving so she could show it off. Also, it was just a really nice summer evening for driving. The way the sun hit the trees to create intricate patterns with shadows on the streets, the sweet smelling air that blew on her face as she drove, children playing outside and laughing - it inspired her. As she was lost in her daydream, she almost passed up her destination. She quickly pulled up to the curb, almost tipping over, and shut off her scooter.
Since they were expecting her, the Fox family's front door had probably been left unlocked for Geri. When she tried the door, sure enough she could let herself in. They could have just forgotten to lock it, but she liked to think that it was the former idea. The place felt familiar to her, almost like a home away from home. Maybe it was because Luke's mom wasn't an obsessive control freak like hers. It was then that she heard the faint sound of a guitar. She dillydallied for a moment to soak up that home-y feeling before she headed for Luke's room.
Without knocking, she walked into his room, and with a smile, she flatly said, "Hey, butthole. What's up?"
