Who: Riley and Robin
What: They're meeting up to see a movie and just hang out
When: Saturday (29th) afternoon
Where: The cinema and then who knows!
Rating: PG-13 (for possible swearing)
Riley had on a white t-shirt and a black waistcoat and his favourite pair of jeans and work-style boots as he waited for Robin just inside the doors of the cinema. He hated feeling nervous, but right now he felt like his palms were sweating. Nerves were so annoying. He felt them before he danced, but that was performance anxiety. This was just meeting a friend (yay a friend!) to go see a movie and indulge in the excitement of having privileges.
He’d already got the tickets, he’d only had to pay half of the cost for Robin’s, and he’d been given the green light by Nora to just slip back behind the counter and grab whatever candy or popcorn he wanted for himself and Robin free of charge. He did have one of the best bosses ever.
He glanced at the door, rocking up onto the balls of his feet as he waited for Robin to come, kind of afraid that maybe Robin wouldn’t turn up. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but he was enjoying the kind of camraderie that he and Robin had cultivated.
That was why he’d been so angry when he’d seen Robin in class looking like he was going to cry and with blood on his shirt and underneath his nose. Where did those assholes get off? Treating him like that. It was stupid and it wasn’t right and even though what they were doing before was wrong, they’d crossed a line, crossed a big, bold line and Riley was tired of standing by and not doing anything.
The next person to lay a hand on Robin? Well, Riley wanted to get involved before then but something would get done. Faces would be broken, or something. Even if that got him kicked off the team. He was starting to think that it really wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, being a jock.
Rubbing his hand over his face and then scratching his jaw, Riley looked up at the ceiling and pretended that he wasn’t nervous and totally freaking out as he was waiting for Robin to arrive.
