I don't know if I like this place or not Garrett thought, shouldering his duffel. Gabe and Gunner had identical luggage with their brother as they stood just inside the gates. Me neither, Garrett, but there's not a whole lot we can do about it. Mother says that this is the best place for us now, and...we're stuck, Gabe said, trying to sound as positive as possible. Gunner turned to look over his shoulder at his brothers. Besides, it's about time we spoke to Grandmother. She's supposed to be pretty formidable, but who knows, right? We will once we get in there to see her, Gunner said, letting his duffel slip down his shoulder and snatching the two smaller handles with his hand before it hit the ground. But people sure are loud here. I wonder if they really even know what they're thinking. But remember, the jabber could lead to information. So we have to be sure to listen in. But none of that mind fuckery Gunner - the last thing we need is people coming after as with pitchforks or whatever it is they use here when they're angry.
Garrett dared not to talk to his eldest brother that way, but it didn't seem like Gabe had any problem with it. It'll be nice just to get out of the sun. And the grounds look big enough for us to toss a ball around, get some running in. This place probably has a gym too. Yeah, probably all kinds of stuff like that in here, Gunner thought back, but his eyes were on Gabe. Of course Gunner knew not to go mucking in peoples' minds. It wasn't like he made a habit of it. Remember, too, that we all stay in the same room. I don't want anyone splitting us up. It was the closest that Gunner typically got to tell his brothers that he loved them. But it was all part of the routine, each knew the feelings of the other. They just decided to never speak of them. Gunner let the tight triangle up the driveway, appraising the mansion and its surrounding buildings. So...guess it's up to the main house to try and see who's in charge besides the White Queen? Gabe didn't much care for the vibe of the place, either, but he knew that it was either go here or run away. After they killed - even accidentally - several people in self-defense, they all knew that they had a snowball's chance in hell getting away with it for any real length of time. All the authorities needed to do was find a telepath stronger than they were (no easy feat, Mindee had informed them) and the truth about the last person who died would be revealed. They had all agreed that they weren't fans being held accountable for actions that were partly out of their control. Let's try and keep our diamond forms on the downlow too - you never know what kind of poor people live here who could wake us up with a chisel and hammer trying to break off a finger or something. The boys snickered in unison at that. God help anyone that tried to attack them. I wonder what caused those indentations in the ground? Garrett thought idly, the other boys looking but shrugging. Maybe Grandmother's taken up gardening, Gabe suggested with a smirk.
Gunner slowed to a stop when they were within throwing distance of front door. Relative or not, I still don't feel right about just busting into someone's home...or whatever this is. I'm going to try and locate someone to show us around. Gunner... Gabe warned, rolling his eyes and looking at their youngest brother. Garrett just shrugged his shoulders, moving in a little closer to the eldest. I'm not going to force someone to let us in, Gabe. Besides, it's not like identical triplets don't garner enough of people's attention without mentioning our heritage and shit. Sighing, Gabe went along for the ride, their minds brushing against many undetected. They were just looking for someone close to the front door to see them in, maybe help them with their bags. If a school-wide assault would take place, the boys would know about it while there was still time to run.
Okay, someone's coming. Gunner strode to the front door and knocked on it politely, but firmly. Perhaps Gunner had directed someone to the door, or maybe this person was just on their way out. Why split hairs? Since Gabe had decided to be Mother Theresa about the whole thing, Gunner decided to leave it to fate to see who'd see them in.
