Subject:View All Journals & Communities In Your S2 Style (Opera)
Time:11:08 am
I figured I would post this here because someone might appreciate it. Here's a simple JavaScript that makes it possible to always view other journals and communities in your own layout style (S2 only). First create a text file such as "IJ.JS" then paste the following code:

style=mine Javascript )

After you do that, save the file and place IJ.JS in whatever directory you want. Go to Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced Tab -> Content, and click on the Manage Site Preferences button. Add "insanejournal.com" and click the "Edit" button. When the Site Preferences dialog pops up, click the Scripting tab, be sure that "Enable Javascript" is checked, then look for the "User JavaScript Files" text box and then enter the directory where you placed IJ.JS

After that, you should always be able to see communities and journals in your own S2 style when you are logged in, even when you reply to comments from within emails!

I did this with help from [info]catness (who deserves the feline's share of the credit) because I couldn't get the Greasemonkey script to work with Opera. Apparently it will also work with Greasemonkey, but I have not tested this. If it works with other browsers besides Opera (and possibly Firefox), let me know and I'll modify the post.

Subject:About The Geeks Asylum
Time:09:12 pm
Greetings!

Today the first promotion for [info]geeks was posted in [info]asylum_promo and new patients are now trickling in.

The [info]geeks asylum is intended to be for discussion of geeky topics, particularly tech-related subjects. The sort of things this community will be geared for is tech news, tech support, tech help, discussion of technology, gadgets, and gizmos. Requests for help are encouraged here. Asking for help with code snippets is fine too. Pretty much anything having to do with computers would be suitable.

The only real rules are to keep things on topic, and to treat other members in a civilized way. We also discourage spam, but posting a link to a different IJ community is fine as long as it has something to do with the primary aim of this community. Since InsaneJournal is such a small community, we hope you will spread the word about [info]geeks so that the asylum will grow. Feel free to jump in any time!

Subject:iPhone and iPods.

Yay, FINALLY somewhere I can post my question.

Well, my contract with Verizon runs out in May, and I've been looking around, trying to get the best realistic opinion possible about the whole cell phone business. I have Twitter, and it seems like everyone can only say ZOMG IPHONE GUUD.

Anyway. I am pleased with Verizon. I have two other phones under the same contract, and it all comes about to $99 per month(texting was turned off, lol). It seems it's the only good service plan out there for my area (I haven't crossed paths yet with anyone who has AT&T).

Well, point of my post is to I'm wondering if anyone actually owns an iPhone on here and can tell me anything and everything about it. Including service. Long shot, but does anyone own a Voyager, or knows someone who does? I'm looking at that phone, too.

Also, one more question! Is it worth to get an iPod Touch? My black 5th gen 30GB is excellent, but I do want to get an upgrade so I can give the one I have currently to my older brother.

So many questions! Sorry about that. :]
