Perhaps I am misreading horribly here, but that gave the impression that you were indifferent to the results and that it would not be a problem if Mel were to run your character for you (since she has done so before). I had no way of knowing that this was a huge deal for your character and acted accordingly. My ignorance is my own fault, I realise, but it could have easily been dispelled by a single sentence. "This plot is important to my character's canon." I agree that there was a misunderstanding in the chatroom, but this was not a one-sided issue. It wasn't all of us refusing to listen to you. We were listening to you, but as I have learned many times to my chagrin, AIM is not the best method of communication as it is so hard to read tone from words on a screen. I will admit that I jumped the gun and assumed certain things, but there was also a lack of clear, intelligible communication on your side that could have prevented many of the issues that seemed to be going on.
If I were to know that this was going to be a more game-breaking/changing moment for your character than the rest of the players, I certainly would have backed off. What I saw in that chat (due to my own ignorance of Mags' backstory) came across as passive-agressive fighting with the mod. Something that we have seen before in chats from you. It has also involved me before when you accused me of God Mod. It is not an accusation to be tossed around lightly and I was deeply upset by it, but going back in the chat and looking at it, I saw that I hadn't been clear enough and it was misconstrued as a godmodding simply because you hadn't been able to understand my intent through my poor choice of words.
I believe that the same happened in both of the Jetplane chats.
In the second Jetplane chat which you missed the beginning of, we had originally wanted to start at around 7:30 EST. I was told that you would be half an hour in getting online so I agreed to wait. We waited as a collective group of players until about 9 pm EST. Still, we were talking over specifics (which was me trying to figure out with Sayuri's mun which spells Sayuri had chosen) and nothing was decided plot wise until about 9:30 pm EST. You came into the chatroom just after 9:50 pm EST and all that had been decided was that Inanna and Hidekazu would have died (which had been decided the night before) and that they had tried to get onto the roof. It was in no way so much that we wouldn't have been able to go back if you had asked us to. Instead, you told us that she would have lost "her fucking mind" to "go running into the woods stark fucking crazy".
You came across as defensive. No one was telling you what Mags could or couldn't do. She could go running into the woods. she could have gone up against the cars. Honestly, Locke and a couple of the other students were also going to go up against the cars if necessary later. Because no one was ready to lay down and die. All that we were saying in all of the chats were that she couldn't hurt the cars. Her powers were not suited to hurting the cars because the cars were magical and not electrical. No one was trying to railroad your character and no one was trying to tell you that you couldn't do what you wanted to or to prevent you from expressing what your character wished to do. There was a severe misunderstanding in this second chat and part of it was my fault, assuming that you were talking about the same thing as the night before and part of it was yours for not expressing yourself properly because you were acting defensively.
I'm sorry for misunderstanding. I'm sorry if it seemed that I wasn't giving you any chance to play your character and I understand how that could be frustrated, but once again, rather than resolve the problem, you left and we were once again left with our own assumptions.
