Who: Eleanore Bardou & Katrina Beaumonte
When: Around 6:30pm, January 7th, 2049.
Where: The spa in The Canopy apartment complex
Rating: PG to PG-13 I guess?
Summary: A bit of relaxation, because pretty people should never have to be stressed.
Eleanore usually stayed at the firm until at least seven, sitting in her office until the building was nearly empty and the lights were getting dim. Tonight though, she took an early day and she was packing up her things by 5:00 and was out the door not ten minutes later. It had been a few weeks since she had gotten her pairing and frankly, she thought she deserved a little time to recover emotionally. Or to just pamper herself until she forgot how irritated the entire situation made her.
The drive from her job and to the Canopy was rarely ever a short one so Eleanore was more than relieved to pull in front of her apartment building. It was a rather gaudy place really, overly stylized and going out of its way to assure everyone that even glanced at the gold tinted building that all of its occupants were impossibly wealthy. A good portion of the time Eleanore found everything about it, save for her own apartment, completely over the top and mildly sickening. Today though, looking at it brought Eleanore a sense of comfort.
She slid out of her car, passing her keys to the valet so he could park it in her designated spot, giving him the same clipped warning about scratching the sleek silver paint that she gave him everyday. She spared a short nod to the doorman as she strode into the brightly lit lobby, heels clicking on the gold and white swirled marble as crossed to the elevators. Fifteen minutes later she was in her apartment, out of her business suit and into a pair of black yoga pants, tank top, and jacket. Now all that she needed was...Katrina.
She sat down on her couch, allowing her body to sink down into the rich, ivory colored fabric as she waited. A sigh slipped from between her lips and she crossed her arms over her chest. She really disliked waiting for people, even waiting for her 'friend'. Eleanore was not even quite sure what type of relationship she had with the other woman. Were they friends? Most of the time she could imagine them as such but really, they spent a good portion of the time making snide little remarks at one another. She did not dislike her in the least bit but she would not say that she was extremely close to her, or that she trusted her completely. If anything, Katrina was one of the few people Eleanore had ever found even slightly worthy to spend her time with. That at least was a point in her favor, though as of now the red headed woman had lost a few.
It would probably take a thorough raking over hot coals for Eleanore to admit it but, she found herself feeling jealous of Katrina. Shocking wasn't it? The jealously had nothing to do with standing or looks in any way, Eleanore knew she had her beat there, it was the fact that the other woman had managed to find her way out of this whole marriage situation. Of all people, how did Katrina managed to be spared instead of her? Eleanore did not want this either. She did not want to be paired up with some random man and forced to push out his child either and yet, Katrina had managed to escape. She glared at the clean white molding of her far wall. It was an obvious injustice but there was no way she was going to let the other woman see how much it bothered her. Oh no, they were going to have their spa day and she was going to pretend she did not care in the least.
She leaned farther into the couch and waited for her friend to arrive.
