"Perhaps she can come out another time," Madeleine replied, offering another smile. She really wasn't looking forward to that, but she could deal with a dog, certainly. She'd dealt with worse for men.
She looked around again, sipping her glass of wine. "It's very nice, especially for a bachelor's place. Naturally, stereotypes don't always hold true, but I've seen it fulfilled a great many times. It's refreshing to see a change of pace." There were improvements to be made, and the car parts drew the eye more than they should, but it was an apartment, no private garage to store them in.
Madeleine looked at him, reaching out to skirt her fingers ever so lightly against the back of his hand as she shifted on the couch, closer to him. She also knew about coming on too strong, but she was aware that she couldn't seem stand-offish either. It was all about finding that just right balance.
