"Not at all," Madeleine replied, smiling still. "I love being around men who still know how to act like gentlemen." Not too much like gentlemen, of course, as that could rather ruin the fun... but a bit of that old-time flair was quite attractive.
She glanced at him, smiling softly as she asked, "Would you mind if I ordered a glass of wine with dinner?" She wasn't sure if he was old-fashioned enough to pay for the entire meal, but, in case he was, she would ask that first. If he seemed hesitant, she'd offer to at least pay for the drinks. At least she knew he wasn't the sort of man to mind a bit of drinking.
This was nice, she decided. Of course, she was not always very particular in how her evenings went, but there was something nice about a nice dinner, conversation... actually getting to know someone.
