There were very few times when Eleanore ever felt like someone got the better of her. As a matter of fact there was never a time where she felt like that and as she looked at him she suddenly felt checkmated. Maybe he was a tiny bit smarter than she had given him credit for, especially if he was majoring in the forensic field. Her teeth clenched and she held herself back from muttering a curse, or worse yet pouting. It felt like she lost a round and Eleanore did not like to lose.
After she had found out who she had been paired with, she had only gone about as far as reading through his file which had only said his name, age, and that he was a student. She had not bothered to go further and find out anything more about him, it was unlike her to leave a stone unturned but she had been too upset to care about him right then. After that they had not really contacted each other and she had been determined to pretend that he was nothing more than a blip on her Helper's screen. Well, she was not going to let that happen once more. He was not going to surprise her again.
She shifted in her chair, straightening her arms and folding them again as it took more effort than she would have liked to keep her expression controlled. "Oh?" she cleared her throat. "What do these parents of yours do then?" If they were so wealthy then she would no doubt have heard of them before, maybe he was still lying. She was beginning to doubt it though. "There is no need for you to attempt it." She answered him, loosening a hand to wave it dismissively. "I have managed my rent on my own for quite a while now, your help isn't needed." The money for her rent came directly from her account, there wasn't any need to get him involved. Plus, she did not want him to think for even a moment that she needed a thing from him.
