If we were going to show up on some weird alien planet, thank fuck it was one with magical healers.

Ems, are you here? Cook? Effie? Freds and I can't be the only ones.

You can stop acting surprised by that any time now.

I can't help it. I'm not used to people wanting to hang out with me. I mean... at least people like you.

"Cool" people. Beautiful people. People with other options.

First off- do you not realize how gorgeous you are?

And secondly, you should get used to it. We're friends, and that's not going to change any time soon.

Are you fli-

Gorgeous? I've been called a lot of things, especially considering my "job" a few years back... but I can't say I've heard "gorgeous". I kinda like it.

And I like how that sounds. Friends.

You're a babe. A little help with some clothes and such, and I can guarantee you'll turn heads everywhere you go.

I'm glad. I like it too. Come on, let's go do something..

Well... you are very attractive yourself.

Am *I* flirting now?

I like that idea very much.

Well that I already know. But I appreciate you saying so anyway.

Have you ever gone out dancing before?

I have not. A teammate once said "I can't see you dancing or being fun-loving, Laura. You're more the... 'stab, stab, kick ass, fuck-like-animals, stab again' type". And it was funny because he was right.

Fuck like animals, huh?

Combine animal instincts with the mindframe that comes from working as a teenage prostitute, and it becomes far more natural than 'relationships'.

Not really as fulfilling, though. I've tried using meaningless sex to fill the void for years. It never works.

Agreed. The only good thing about it, honestly... is that less emotion means less chance of being hurt.

You think you're an unstoppable killing machine, and that means you can't be hurt... but my ex-boyfriend certainly proved that theory wrong.

You're right. It's all a fucking double edged sword. Meaningless and empty or the risk of getting hurt. I think I'm getting to the point where I want to risk being hurt again, even if it's shit. I'm tired of not feeling anything.
