WHO: Emme & Marlene.
WHERE: Their flat.
WHEN: Monday, November 13th; evening.
WHAT: Marlene's confession.
RATING: TBD.
SONG: Bring Me To Life by Evanescence.
STATUS: log; in-progress.
After her humiliation at the hospital cafeteria the previous afternoon, Emme had come home and barricaded herself in her room. She had a lot of emotions that she needed to work though. She kept vaulting back and forth between depression and anger, to determination to make things work, to saying Fuck everything. She kept blasting apart one of her pillows to vent her frustration. She'd repair it magically, and then blast it apart again. She went into work that morning and did her best to keep her mind focused, but it had been an exercise in futility. Any time anyone mentioned the singing, or burst into song themselves, Emme felt the hurt rise in her chest again. She was mentally exhausted by the time she came home that evening, but resisted the urge to lock herself away again. Marlene was also having a rough go of things and Emme wasn't so far consumed with her own problems that she would ignore the needs of her closest friend. What Marlene was going through trumped personal heartbreak. So she shrugged out of her jacket and headed down the hall to Marlene's room. She leaned against the wall beside the door and rapped a knuckle against it. "Mar? I'm going to make some tea. Do you want to come join me?" |
