The Best Laid Plans...
While tempted to attend this meeting in full armor, Victor Von Doom - King of The Doom Republic - decided that showing up in a suit and tie would come across as far more diplomatic and unthreatening. So, with people watching all across Galador and among the fleet of Imperial ships, Doom made his way to the public speaking podium in the center of Galactic City, waiting for this... emissary the Empire had declared would be coming.
The Empire had decided (much like Doom had intended on his end) that it would take a certain type of diplomatic, unthreatening type to make this go off as planned. That immediately took frightening types like Vader and Sidious themselves out of the question. Grand Moff Tarkin, for his part, was far too curt and arrogant to possibly make the Empire appear unthreatening long enough for invasion to begin. Only one man rested firmly in the middle: Director Krennic.
Decked out in his highly decorated Imperial regalia, the Director landed in Galactic City aboard an Imperial Shuttle, several stormtroopers at his side for protection. While that typically self-important smirk was firmly in place as he approached Doom, a bit of doubt clearly flashed across his face when he got eye to eye with the king, only to have Doom not show even the slightest hint of intimidation. No... if anything, Doom looked bored.
As a favor to King Doom, the Hand of The Khaleesi, Dany Hanson of Dragonstone, had offered to moderate the discussion, as her own skills in diplomacy would hopefully help keep things as calm as possible.
"Director Krennic, of The Imperial Army... this is Victor Von Doom, King of The Doom Republic, one of our biggest land masses on Galador. Hopefully, this public discussion can lead to both parties peacefully co-existing, until such time as we can figure out how to get the Reality Gem to send the Director and his fleet back to their own world. King Doom, would you like to spe-"
Krennic cut the poor girl off, his tone as condescending as ever. "This is not meant to be about 'peaceful co-existence', dear girl. We are here to allow your 'king' a chance to surrender this world peacefully to The Empire. For as long as we remain trapped in this reality, this world will be under one hundred percent Imperial rule, as per Emperor Palpatine himself."
Sighing (and hilariously, physically trying not to roll his eyes) , Doom cleared his throat and gave Krennic a smirk. "Director. You will have to pardon me for not cowering in fear. This planet is currently home to individuals with powers and abilities you and your 'emperor' have never even imagined. Instead, consider this your chance to surrender peacefully, and to leave this planet until we can find a way to rid this universe of your filth."
Dany went wide-eyed at Doom's words, hurrying to try calming everything down. "OK! So! Gentlemen, let's all remain calm, please... there's no reason this has to digress into chaos..."
Krennic again cut her off, paying her no more mind than one would pay a pesky gnat. "Filth? That's hardly the way to speak to your new rulers. Do you really think The Empire has any plans whatsoever to let you or anyone else on this planet simply go about your lives? We may be stuck here, the same as you. And in case that is so, we will take this planet as the first step of conquering this reality the same as we conquered our own. In fact-..."
This time, Krennic was interrupted. Not by Dany, nor by Doom's words. No... he was interrupted by a loud bang, as a comically bored-looking Doom had pulled a small, hidden handgun from his jacket and shot Krennic right between the eyes.
As the stormtroopers immediately drew their weapons, they were easily gunned down by four of the king's Doombots.
"Oh. Oh god. Ok, so... that happened..." Dany mumbled into her microphone, hilariously out of her element here. "Thank goodness King Doom handled this, so that there would be no conflict..."
Doom walked in front of Dany, casually putting his gun away as matter-of-factly as he'd drawn it. "As you all heard from this scum's lips... there is no making treaties or agreements with this people. It is merely surrender, or fight. And I will speak on behalf of not only The Doom Republic, but all of Galador when I say we will die before we surrender. Whatever you have here, military-wise... we welcome you to bring the fight to us. You are going to need every ship and every troop you have."
