Having recently had the idea of doing a series of online videos showing her playing along with various difficult songs on the drums, to show her talent to people who might not otherwise see it, Bella was sitting in the Full Moon Records studio, wearing bicycle shorts, a pink Unicorn Blood t-shirt, and with her red hair tied back in a tight ponytail, hammering away at the drum kit, beating out Metallica's "Hardwired" with shocking ease.

Aurora had made her way in to get some practice in. Since she and Aubrey had moved into their own apartment she was considerate of her neighbors enough not to take her drum kit with her. With school, the occasional odd job and time with Aubrey she hadn't taken as much time to play as she should have and while she felt like the lamest buddying rock star in history she also knew why she felt the need to fill her days as much as possible. Anyway. When she saw and heard what Bella was up to she couldn't help it but go over to listen, a big smile on her face.

With a big grin as she saw her newest buddy walk in, Bella finished the song with a little showy display, before reaching over to turn the camera on her phone off.

Hopping up, she skipped happily over to Aurora to give her a big hug. "Hey hon! This is a nice surprise"

Aurora happily hugged Bella back. She was an affectionate girl by nature. "I thought I'd get some practice in buuuuut seeing you play puts any ability I have to shame," she said with a giggle. "Seriously Bel. You're SO talented it's crazy."

"Thank you..." She said with a happy little blush. She used to almost be embarrassed about her 'child prodigy' status: the way she so easily picked up any instrument she attempted. But as she grew older and embraced being unique, she started to take great pride in it. "But seriously, I've heard you, doofus. You're VERY good."

"My brother had this drum kit for years and I'd secret away to play on it when I was feeling well enough. Eventually he admitted that he'd heard me play and I was much better than him. Of course, he was so gangly at the time he was more likely to take his own eye out with the drumstick, but still!" Aurora giggled.

"I bet he was MAD cute, too." Bella laughed, wagging her eyebrows at Aurora. "At least if his sister is anything to judge by. ANYWAY. That reminds me, I finally got to hear a few of the tracks your band's been working on! Very cool stuff. I can't wait to hear them once they're all mixed..."

That was... a weird way to compliment someone. It took Aurora a few seconds to catch on, but when she did there was no denying the blush on her cheeks. "Honestly, it's all so surreal. Like, I can't believe that this is my life. And yet... I can't imagine being anywhere else. Does that even remotely make sense?"

"Omigod. YES." Bella giggled. "I mean... I went from being hated and feared to having lots of great friends and now a shot at actually being famous!" She smiled, giving a happy sigh. "I remember when I first discovered I had powers... I thought that was it. That my life was ruined. But now?"

"You're exactly where you're meant to be." Aurora nodded. She had abilities of her own, but at this point she didn't heed them much. Just figured they were vague intuitions more than anything. "What all exactly can you do?"

"Ok. Weird, seemingly random question here.... but have you ever smoked weed?" She asked, feeling ridiculous for even asking this. But it was relevant, dammit!

Aurora's eyebrows shot up. "That's a completely random question," she teased, giving Bella a playful little shove. "But to answer your question? No. I'm a good girl."

"Damn. I swear there's a reason I asked." Bella told her, blushing. "See... my nickname back home was Bliss. Because I have a form of what's called pheromone control. Basically, I can make you become so happy, relaxed, and just... chill, I guess, that it's similar to how a person acts when they're high."

"Oooooooh. Okay." Aurora's eyes widened comically. "If you tell ANYONE that I said this I'd totally deny it, but have you tried using your ability on any of the asshats at school? OH! Or faculty? The possibilities are endless here."

Bella burst out laughing there, NEVER expecting someone like Aurora to suggest that. "No, no.... I considered using it on that Asuka girl, just to see if she could be a halfway decent human being under THAT circumstance... but nah."

Hey, Aurora could have her devious moments, okay? She giggled loudly and put her fingers to her mouth in an attempt to stifle the sound. "Then you have MUCH greater restraint than I do," she said with a decisive nod.

"So anyway...." Bella said with a snort, trying to change the subject so they'd BOTH stop laughing so hard, "I wonder if our bands will get to play together... that would be SO cool..."

"I'm sure we will at some point," Aurora agreed with a nod and a bright smile. She really was the epitome of kindness wasn't she? "But I'd ask to play first because there's no WAY I'm following you."

"Oh listen to you." Bella said with a giggle, honestly kind of loving the attention. "Oh!" She said, just remembering as she pointed at the shirt she wore, "Look! Me and Lita had a couple shirts made. Just to help promote us leading into the album being done."

"Okay, a) that's amazing and b) how do I get one?" Aurora was always the kind of girl who encouraged others and while it was true that she felt that Bella was better on the drums she chose to build her confidence up rather than tear her down. That was just the kind of young woman she was.

"You really like it?" Bella asked, a happy grin beaming from her. "I could TOTALLY make you one. We'll have professional ones made once the album hits, but this was easy for me to do."

"You wouldn't mind?" Aurora asked with an excited bounce. "You would literally be my second favorite person on the planet if you did that." We don't need to ask who the first person is, do we?

"Awwwshucks." Bella laughed, nodding. "Totally. Mine and Lita's only took a day or two, so gimme till the weekend and I'll definitely have one for ya." All her life, Bella had wanted a sister. And while Lita was definitely her best friend... Aurora felt like the sister she'd always longed for.

Aurora tended to have that effect on most people. She was just... eternally sweet and optimistic. She only ever wanted the best for anyone that she met. But she did feel a kinship with Bella. "Thanks for that. Oh! Hey! You should come over for dinner sometime. Not gonna lie. I've turned into QUITE the little housewife."

"Aw! I'd love to!" She squeaked, clapping her hands. "I'd ask if I could bring a date but.... I'd rather have this dinner sometime this decade."

Aurora scoffed. "I find it hard to believe that you have trouble finding a date! I mean!" She made a game show hostess gesture to Bella's body. "Are people here BLIND?"

"I have a tendency to say.... like the exact opposite of what a person I like wants to hear. Swear to god. It's like another mutant power." Bella said with a smirk, giving a shrug. "But yes! Dinner with you and your honey would be amazing!"

"This weekend then? Oh! You don't have any allergies, do you?" Aurora's eyes widened. "Gasp. You're not vegan, are you? Not that there's anything wrong with that!"

"Nope. Not me. I love burgers and wings WAY too much to ever do that." Bella laughed, just (as always) being charmed off her ass by this girl. "This weekend would be great. Gives me something to do, since Lita will probably be with Kelly and Brandon."

"Pfft. Bo-RING." Okay, so Aurora would have likely done the same thing with Aubrey before the invite to dinner, but shh! "Okay, well. I'LL cover the food just as long as you bring your charming self over no later than 6."

"I can't wait! This is gonna be SO fun!" Bella found herself more and more grateful for the little family she was making for herself. "Tell Aubrey I can't wait to finally meet her!"

"I will! I know she'll just love you." Aurora went in for another hug, pleased as punch that she was making more friends.
