I just hope that some certain teenagers know that even going out and partying, does not excuse them from their education. I hope that JR learned her lesson....I'm not a terrible mother but I don't let things slide as easily.

Then why let them go out in the first place?

Cause then I would be a bad mother for not letting them go out with friends.

So you allow them to go out and punish them for it?

I’m not punishing them. So school is considered punishment? I at least let her be late, but still had to go.

I let Maggie stay home on Friday.

I let JR at least sleep in a little bit. I just think she needs to start taking responsibility for her actions. Especially with underage drinking. She’s only 16. So if Maggie was out having fun and not drinking and her not going to school is okay, she’s a good kid. JR is too but she parties too much and needs to learn.

I think I'm still a bit of a softy in the mom department. I haven't had any experience before she showed up here. I don't think she was drinking. She was home before 10 but I thought it was nice to let her stay home.

You’re fine babe. You did a good thing. JR came after curfew and was drunk so only way to get her to listen to me about drinking at all and partying was to send her to school anyway.

I think you did the right thing with her and you did let her sleep in a little. So not a big shock to the system in the morning.

Most definitely not. It's just that she's 16 and acts like she's older than that. I think that may be with her upbringing, I mean Melanie did like to drink.

All girls act older than they are. That's why she has you, to have her best interest at heart.

Yes, I do. I know that she's not mine biologically but I helped to raise her with Melanie before arriving here. Now that I'm raising her on my own with your help of course, I just want to treat her like I had birthed her myself.

No, I sent them to school. JR knows if she wants to party on a school night then she goes to school. I mean I would have sent you too, but your mom already decided.

Then it was a much deserved break. Not like JR who stayed out past curfew and was drunk. I’m not a mean mom but there’s a lesson to learn here. I hope you enjoyed your time off.

I don't think you're mean. We're supposed to go to school anyway, right? Oh, I did but I too much candy in the morning. Not fun afterwards.

No, it’s being a responsible mom. I had to learn the hard way too. If I wanted to party, I learned the consequences.

Yes, I know that. But you still go and learn new things. It’s not about homework it’s about the natural consequence, want to party? Still going to school,

On the contrary, Gramma Lindsay, it wasn't the party that kept us from school, it was the candy. And I definitely did not miss any of my lessons, just because I wasn't there. It doesn't really work like that anymore. The way you're putting things makes it sound like we're not even allowed to stay home sick with the flu or something.

Well, you're Aunt JR's was partying and drinking. Which is why I sent her to school.....now if it was just that she was out trick or treating or even having too much candy and staying up late then I wouldn't have minded. But, I'm trying to get her to stop partying too much. I'm not saying that, but if you are going to drink and think there won't be any consequences then it's a problem because there will be consequences. Your Aunt JR is 16, she shouldn't be out getting drunk anyway.

I guess we need to teach her that there is so much more to partying than drinking. Jef and I went to the party, but I tend to do the thing where you just hold a drink and walk around to make it look like you've been drinking. Because more often than not, everyone is going to shove drinks in your face the whole time. Especially the girls.

So yeah, I am fully on board with you have to go to school if you're hungover. I was just suffering from a severe sugar crash... among other things.

See, I don't mind sugar rushes. It's the whole underage drinking thing, I mean she could have gotten into some serious trouble or worse, and I don't even want to think about the worst. She's lucky that she didn't get arrested for anything.
