Beach Date!
Who: Dean and Summer
Where: Oahu
When: Saturday, April 20th
What: Beach date
Rating: TBD
Status: Closed; Ongoing

True to his word, Dean had picked Summer up early on Saturday morning so they could go to the beach. He'd decided on Oahu and since it wasn't accessible by road they had to catch a tram across. He'd rented a hotel room in the event that they wanted to stay the night, but was under no illusions as to where their day would lead. If anything, it was mostly going to be a place where they could store their things, maybe get dinner afterwards. Dean didn't consider himself a terribly romantic person, but for Summer he was prepared to try. He liked her. He liked spending time with her. And maybe today could be a dry run for a potentially longer vacation in the future.

But he was thinking ahead of himself. Once the tram reached its destination and his feet found dry land again, he took in a sobering breath of the sea air. "I've booked a room. We can drop out stuff off, get changed and go from there. Or lunch first, even." He shrugged. He didn't much mind either way. "Whatever works for you."

After spending a day with some gal pals shopping and brunching, Summer was ready for her beach day with Dean.

She had yet to go to the beach, despite being on the alien planet for more than two years. It just had not been high up on her list of priorities. She was glad to be changing that and that Dean was the person to help her do it. With everything that had been going on lately, they were due for a day where they could just focus on each other and not whatever the gem was throwing at them at the time.

"Expecting something to happen later tonight?" She teased, unable to help herself as she grinned and bumped her shoulder with his. Of course she wouldn't mind that but she would be alright if it didn't happen too. She was just happen to be spending time with him. "You're not supposed to eat then swim, right? So let's swim first" She decided, taking in the scenery as she put her bag on her shoulder. It was breathtaking and they had only just arrived at the hotel. She could only imagine what the actual beach was like.

Dean blushed. "Alright. Swimming first," he agreed. Once in their hotel room he allowed Summer space to change while he did so himself. He wasn't exactly a beach-going person. Truthfully, when he wasn't hunting something or protecting his own he didn't know what to do with his free time. Other than doing his best to make Summer happy. He didn't consider that a chore (or any of it a chore, really).

Seeing her smile always brightened his day.

After a few minutes, he was dressed down in black (obviously) boardshorts and a pair of flip-flops. He'd changed in the bathroom and had the decency(!) to knock to make sure that Summer was decent before returning to the room with a bottle of sunscreen lotion in his hand. "Being sun safe is sexy..." He started to say before looking over at her.

When they got to their room, Summer drug her bathing suit out and began changing once Dean left the room. Sure she could have changed right there in front of him but they weren't yet there at that point in their relationship so them changing in separate rooms were better.

When he came back out, she wearing a yellow ( as if she would ever wear any other color! ) bikini that tied around her neck and in the back with some black shorts over the bottoms. She was just slipping on her flip flops when he showed himself and she looked up at him with a smile. "We almost match" She joked as she looked him over. He just missing some yellow. S

he grinned at what he said and walked over to him, turning her back to him. "It sure is. Get my back, will you?" She asked, holding her hair up so could get the back of her neck too.

"Almost," Dean agreed with a chuckle. He was trying not to stare (honestly!), but it was difficult for how wonderful she looked. He shook the bottle, uncapped it and squeezed the lotion onto his fingertips. He started on her neck and behind her ears then worked his way down her back, using his palm after a while.

He realized that he'd fallen silent and cleared his throat. For as long as they'd known each other and his history back home you'd think that he'd be more suave in these situations. His (admittedly self-inflected) extreme isolation played a major part in it, however. He had no one to blame but himself, but at least he was trying to change. "Did you ever wonder what your life would be like if you weren't brought here? Or what it'd be like if we'd never met?" It seemed like a question out of left field, but one that he'd been pondering for some time to bring it up.

She closed her eyes as he rubbed along her neck and back using his palm. It was almost like a massage that she didn't know she needed. Had she been that tense lately and not realized it? Maybe she needed a massage for real or to find a way to release some of the tension. There was a very easy way she could do that last one but it involved Dean so with any luck, it would happen during their little getaway and all the tension she had would be gone.

Opening her eyes again when she heard him talk, she turned around and grabbed the sunscreen from him to start putting it on his chest as they talked. She didn't need to but she needed something to do with her hands. "At home I would still be fighting Venjix and his army until we finally defeat him" She told him, taking a moment to think about his other question. "No, I haven't. And honestly, I can't remember what it was like here before I met you" She admitted with a small laugh as she put the lotion on him. "Your turn"

Dean pursed his lips in an attempt from audibly whimpering when Summer started to lather the lotion onto her chest. He'd somehow become more of an introvert in his years on Galador; less likely to say what was on his mind and less likely to pursue who and what he wanted. Maybe it was time to change that. "Was Venjix... What was Venjix?" His question was going to be was Venjix Skynet? But since they were from different universes, maybe she wouldn't get the movie reference. And maybe he was wrong to assume.

When it was his time to be lathered, he blushed and turned his back to Summer to she could work on his shoulders and back. "I think meeting you has to be my favorite thing about coming here. Hands down."

Seeing how much he was enjoying her hands on his bare chest, she slowed down her motions so he could enjoy it even more as she answered him.

"A computer virus that infected computers worldwide then became sentient and took over with robots he had created. There was only one city left that was safe, a domed city called Corinth. Me, along with five others, protected it and did our best to keep him out"

When he turned around, she began putting it on his back but paused at what he said. With a smile, she wiped what lotion was left on her hands onto his skin then she moved around him to face him again. "I'm glad we're on the same page with that" She told him before she leaned in and kissed him.

They'd been hanging out for a long time now and with what they just said to each other, it seemed like the right moment to finally take this step with him.

Dean sighed into the kiss and hooked a hand around Summer's waist to gently tug her closer and deepen the kiss. They'd known each other for about a year now. He enjoyed spending time with her and liked that they shared the same interests. He became more of an introvert on Galador before Sam arrived; before Charlie. He'd never had the chance to meet Charlie where he came from, but he instantly felt that connection to her. She was like a sister to him. But it was through his relationship with Summer that he was finally coming back to himself. Perhaps not entirely the same as before, but that was okay too.

Once they broke for air he pressed his forehead to Summer's and inhaled, taking in her natural scent and the lotion that they'd just spread on each other. "You know, I don't know why we waited so long to do that." It felt natural. It felt right. He cupped her neck and traced his thumb along one side of her jaw and briefly kissed her again. He hadn't forgotten what she'd just told him and would likely bring the discussion back up again, but now that they'd kissed he couldn't seem to bring himself to stop.
