Who: Marilyn Arnold and Nicky Pike
When: Sunday March 10, around 10 am.
Where: Nicky's house
What: New roommates collide
Back in Stoneybrook, Marilyn treasured her alone time and often craved it. It was why it'd taken her so much time to be okay with living with Andy. She was an introvert who loved her space. But in Galador, she was finding being alone to be quite lonely, especially at nights when she was alone in her new Riverdale apartment. No piano, no real comforts of home. Just her necessities.
During the day, she often found herself over at Nicky's house practicing the piano (when she wasn't over at her sister and Jordan's place with the babies). Because she was no longer teaching and hadn't yet found a job teaching piano or even music in general, she used the time to stay in shape. Playing piano, even if it wasn't her piano she was playing, kept her focused and sane. It reminded her of being home, and that somehow, one day, she would be home again.
Anyway, days at Nicky's turned to nightly dinners and then he invited Marilyn to move in with him. She accepted of course, because having someone with her made her feel less alone. But it came with a lot of guilt. They both had SO's at home. However, he had a big place. There was no need for things to get awkward.
Marilyn overslept on Sunday morning, her clock reading something around 10 am, from what she could see through blurry, sleepy eyes. She got out of bed, reaching for her bathrobe to put over her shorts and tank top. She and Nicky had their own bathrooms, but she was ready in case he happened to be awake roaming around.
Marilyn was in mid-yawn on the way to the bathroom when she collided with Nicky. Seeing him shirtless, in nothing but a towel and his wet red hair woke her up immediately. Sure, this was nothing she hadn't seen before, but the last time she had, they'd been dating.
"Whoops, sorry!" Marilyn said, feeling herself blush. "I didn't see you coming."
