On the third, it would be the one year anniversary of Nancy's arrival to this strange, alternate reality that she now called home. She had been around long enough to turn eighteen and even move from some strange celestial head to a planet. For the first few months, she got her second chance with Barb. Nancy finally felt complete after telling Barb how she felt and about all the things that she had done with her at home before coming here. The best part about all of the growth for Nancy is that she did it on her own. Steve hadn't been there for long, and it seemed that Jonathan had arrived while she had been dead.
At first, Nancy was a bit depressed that she had been separated from Jonathan. It wasn't so much because she was in love with him, but rather, she knew that she could depend on him. That he seemed to understand her, even when she didn't understand herself. Still, she finally managed to get to know herself with the help of Princess Bea. Which was something that she never really got to do at home. When she wasn't taking care of her brother and sister, she was trying to save the world. That was why she was trying to fight when she had no business in doing so the night that she had died. She knew that she wouldn't stand any sort of chance against the big monster, but she would try going up against the little things. In hindsight, she may have had better luck against the big thing.
Now she was back and Jonathan was there. Only she hadn't acted like she was ready to run and jump into his arms, like she may have been back when she first got to Knowhere. In fact, in her shocked state from being resurrected, Nancy blurted out that she was looking forward to getting into bed with the Princesses. It was better to be upfront about the way that she was living her life now, rather than make it sound like she wanted to be with him again. She wasn't against the idea for the future, but for now, she was happy with the way that things were going for her. She wasn't looking to be tied down, but Jonathan was still important to her. After a brief back and forth the day before, she gave him a day and place for them to meet. She got there a few minutes early and ordered herself a drink, sitting down and calming her nerves as she waited for him to arrive.
