Victoria knew that such a late showing was going to attract problems. Dusk was, thankfully, not always on schedule, however. Curfews were. To that end, she had tried to convince Star into casting a spell of influence over the weather. Moving the Earth on its rotational axis would probably be a little too much to ask, but some added cloud cover? Vicky felt that was probably within the blonde's capabilities.
Thankfully, that was precisely what had resulted. Quite whether it was genuinely because of the newly-undead witch or just coincidence, did not really matter. What did, was that their vampiric selves would not have to face direct sunlight on the red carpet journey between blacked-out limousine and door.
Had Victoria seen the finished product? Of course. Countless times, actually. But with every edit came a new perspective on things and, really, nothing beat the big screen, surrounded by an actual audience. Right now, she was in the lobby with Star, simultaneously posing for promotional pictures and answering questions for the gathering of reporters around them. She would have to be sure to buy up the publications and cut out the resulting articles for posterity. Quite how Star was taking what was now the answered promise to make her a celebrity, Victoria did not know, but was fairly sure the girl was lapping up the adoration, for all it was worth.
Heck, they both could! This was their night! Vampire party-girls unite!
Even so, there was something magnetic tickling away at the back of her mind, for the duration of the latest showing. She had largely been putting it down to the close proximity of her own vampiric offspring and the subject matter of the film. Still, though... There it was. Something distinctly familiar. Something almost exactly like what Star felt towards her, in fact. A feeling of...
Finally catching sight of the redhead, Victoria's playful smile threatened to fully depart. Whilst modest and happy to receive praise for her cinematic work, this was the first genuine moment of nervousness the vampiress had experienced. Her throat was going dry and the arm around her secret lover's waist momentarily tightened in anxiety.
"Holy shit..."
It was whispered far below the level of human hearing. Not even a whisper, really. Instantly, Victoria took the decision to end the incidental media session with a graciously excusing, "OK, guys, we've got a full press conference tomorrow. Hope to see you all there...!" It was hardly cutting things short, after all. They must have gone over the ten minute mark, already. What mattered was the fact her own maker was here. The one who, in effect, had made everything in her present unlife very much possible.
Trying to get the elder female's attention with a half-wave, Victoria whispered into her partner's ear, "See the redhead over there? That's... She's the one who made me."
