A Blonde With Sharp Teeth [17 Jun 2008|01:57am]
It was always a matter of hours. Vampiric turnings seemed to have no exact rule about them. Some could be quick and others had to wait for another evening. For Victoria, having one of her own was a unique experience. She was still writing her book, still picking up knowledge. Still planning to release it, in a few years, as the ultimate compendium of vampiric history ever produced. The present media hype would make such a thing easy to do now, but when one had an eternity, perfection could wait.

She rested alongside the sleeping blonde now. This was no average example. Star had employed magic to make it different. Nevertheless, a large part of her, at least, was now bound by blood. A mystical influence that somehow seemed to spark at the edge of Victoria's consciousness. She could feel something... Slight though it might be, it was there. Perhaps only sensed, because she had deliberately been focusing on it, but there nonetheless. When that feeling refused to die down, only instead building, her smile grew again and she propped herself up by elbow, gazing down at her new bloodied offspring. The cameras were recording. No tape to run out of. Just a constant committing to digital memory. A memory to live forever.

And with the wound of bite suddenly dissolving away to not even so much as a scar, Victoria watched on as lover's embrace of the shadows awoke to a new reality.

Dazed and Confused [17 Jun 2008|10:12am]
Jill was either a victim of really poor timing or karma was finally deciding to have its way with her.

Literally weeks after she decided to hang up her proverbial spurs and leave Wolfram & Hart, instead picking up a badge for Uncle Sam, the whole thing just goes AWOL. Which she supposed happened when a media leak sprang and everyone was running around 24-7 trying to keep it under wraps. But if the newspaper reports were any indication, such efforts were in vein.

So with the inevitable stand-down Project Integration gave all its agents, Jill found herself in a purgatory of sorts. Unable to do the work she left Wolfram & Hart to do, unable and unwilling to go back to her former life. She couldn't even visit the facility to see Oliver, check on how he was doing.

But he had asked her to swing by his suite, though why he really didn't say. He was sort of rambling at that point, probably a result of the head injury he'd suffered. But he'd asked Jill for the favor, and she was all too willing to do anything to repair what she'd broken.

It was like her own version of My Name is Earl, only less funny.

"Hello?" the former attorney called out tentatively as she opened the door. She found it weird, even a little unsettling, that the place was unlocked. As long as Oliver had been gone, one would've thought it would've been locked.
