She was asking rough questions and none of which he could argue against. He too fretted about the side effects of such intense magic. He knew George had his reasons for keeping the village going, but Ernie couldn't help thinking he should quit trying to bring anyone else in so perhaps the village could settle. It was clear the twins never meant to bring in most outside their immediate familial circle which was fine and made sense, but now that they dragged others into it, they needed to find a way to make sure everyone was healthy and had what they needed. Ernie sighed. He really was becoming a negative person which he hated. "You are right," he admitted, "I won't insult you by arguing otherwise." He gave up on his drink in favor of using the glass like a hockey puck as he slipped it across the table from his right hand to his left and back again. "But, you also have to realize, we're here. The only thing we can do is deal with the information we have and try to find some way to be happy and make ourselves of use until we're not here any longer. Really, for every person who has left, there is someone who has been here for months, even years. I don't want to be miserable for that long, you know?"
