"I would think she'd ceased to care if she wasn't a bit hard on me," he joked. "She had a valid point and I've been much more content since I took her advice, so there we are."
He watched the play of emotions across Lucius's face. It wasn't an easy read. Lucius was clearly thinking about something disturbing, but that was the sum total of what he could discern from the tiny line between his brows.
"Not a thing. I tried to offer my assistance with the children and so on a few weeks ago and was told - none-too-politely - to butt my great nose out of their business, that they were 'handling' it. Mind you, their 'handling' had a number of children living alone and quite helpless and so on.
"I've been told there have been other random magical surges that seem to dissipate over time. The best we can do is to wait and see, I suppose."
