It amused him to see the expression of surprise as she recognised him. He'd known her too long not to spot the disapproval of his appearance which was even more amusing. In his opinion, he was in better form than he'd ever been in his life, but Narcissa could hardly know that. Besides, even looking relatively well for him, he was still a homely mug.
"You are correct," he answered with a gallant little bow, a gentle tease that her older self would recognise but would be lost on this younger girl. She hadn't yet undertaken to force him to learn civilised manners, after all. "I haven't seen you since you arrived, even at your other age, though I've conversed with you a few times. How are you getting on?"
