The spells that Ron had attempted to put into place around the village had yet to work, but there was still hope it would come together. It was what he had spent the greater part of three weeks on, and since Hermione and his children had disappeared, he hadn't really wanted to be around too many people. Not even Harry. In a weird way, although most of the village was related to him, he felt a little alone, and distanced himself. Except for Amelia's party, he had gone and tried to enjoy it, at least.
He was tinkering around with the magical triggers on the small siren he had found in smuggled. The same charms he had placed on the magical barriers, he had put on it, and when it went off on Friday afternoon, it nearly made him jump out of his skin. The siren sounded more like a banshee than anything else, and it wailed uncontrollably for ten seconds before the lightbulb inside popped and smoke came out of it.
This was when he realized the system was wholly ineffective, but he wondered if someone had just arrived. Grabbing a broom, he left the station, deciding that either he found a new resident, or at the very least he would get some fresh air. Once he took off, he headed for the forest. The weak spot where Bellatrix had managed to get through the barrier was always the first place he checked. Partially because it was the weakest point in the magic, but also because it just seemed to be where most folks arrived.
While it was hard to find anyone walking around under the foliage, the voice was altogether much easier to follow. Eventually, he found the person who was calling out for someone named Olive. Poor Olive hopefully wasn't stuck here as well, though Ron couldn't remember having heard anyone say they had come in pairs. One never knew though.
"Hello," he called out once he landed and walked in the direction of the voice. He hadn't wanted to scare the owner of the voice, which seemed oddly familiar to him for some reason. Not that he could place it right away, but there was something familiar about it. "My name's Ron, and I'm here to help you... Whoever you are."
