Re: Lily/Severus
Part of her didn't want to let go. Just wanted to hold on forever and cherish the moment. The moment she had thought would never happen again. But he was pulling away and perhaps he was right to. Things were fine with James but she knew how this annoyed him and she would not want to make him angry or jealous for no reason. Of course, he would have to get used to this. He was her friend and James was her husband. They would both just have to deal with each other. Be civil.
Smiling at him, the kiss was more than welcome. Her hand stayed on his arm and she let it run down a little to squeeze his hand. Such a sweet, soft touch to her hair and she felt rather overwhelmed suddenly. The teenager in her really coming forward. The teenager who wanted her best friend back and was being given a glimpse of him. It was a dream come true in a way even if that, perhaps, sounded silly. Which was why she would not say it.
"No, thank you." Hopefully he would understand why she was thanking him. For the dance. For that glimpse of hope. For not refusing her wish to rebuild something long lost.
