WHO: Helga and Hannah WHAT: trying to actually make friends WHERE: Brews and Bottoms WHEN: Monday 22nd, evening RATING: PG at the most STATUS: closed/incomplete
Helga had told Hannah that she would know Helga when she saw her, because she would be the one dressed like she was from a thousand years ago. It seemed the most straightforward way for them to recognise each other when they hadn't actually met in person yet. Although Helga was used to seeing the way the other women dressed by now, she still couldn't picture herself in those kinds of clothes, and continued to make her own dresses rather than frequenting Threads. Consequently, she was quite noticeable. At least she was not the only one - having Rowena, Helena, Godric and Salazar around meant that Helga never felt she was too strange to be dressed modestly and in an old-fashioned style. Arianna too, although clearly from a different time period, seemed closer in her clothing than the more 'modern' people here.
A lot of things had changed over the centuries, and clothes were only a part of it. Another was drinks. Helga did not know what half of the liquids behind the bar were, but luckily she could always obtain ale, her drink of choice. It wasn't particularly good ale, but she was used to that too. You couldn't be picky when you travelled. She approached the bar confidently and then, having obtained a drink, went to sit at a small table in full view of the door yet not close enough to feel a draught when it opened. Helga drank from her glass - that was another thing that had changed, whoever would have thought glass would be wasted on drinking vessels? - and waited for Hannah to arrive.
