Who: Narcissa Malfoy & Roxy Weasley What: It was time she got to know some of Draco's friends Where: Sweet Eats When: Thursday afternoon Rating: TBD
Narcissa was not unsatisfied with her employment at the sweets shop. She enjoyed rising early, and that way should could have two or three full trays of candies and chocolates ready for when the shop opened. It also meant she felt justified in leaving fairly early in the day, so that she interacted with people as little as possible. It wasn't that she had a problem with her fellow sweets shop employees, or anyone in the village for that matter. She was just particularly wary of everyone's opinions towards her, given that her sister had recently cause so much difficulty. Nor did she want to inadvertently step on any toes until she could fully comprehend the relationships she was barging in on.
Who would have thought making candies would have involved so much? She had taken note of Draco's protection of a certain little girl, and found it quite interesting when that same child, Roxy, was employed part-time at the shop. For the first few days, their paths crossed for the briefest of times. with Narcissa rushing off to make some tastier food to bring to her teenaged older sister in the hospital. However, by the end of her first week, her curiosity had reached a breaking point. She knew that Roxy was at school during most of her shift, so she deliberately came in later, so that she would have to stay later. If the little girl was someone that Draco was fond of, she thought she ought to know more about her. It was a place to start, in any case.
She embarked on a special project, that she hoped would attract some notice for the shop, and possibly start a conversation with Draco's young friend. She began to construct a haunted gingerbread house, in the spirit of the upcoming season. It wasn't easy, but she enjoyed a challenge. She crouched down in front of the prep table, icing bag grasped firmly in one hand as she attempted to affix small 'tiles' of black licorice that she's made that morning to the eaves of the house.
