Harry had been looking forward to it since he'd suggested it. He felt like he knew so little about his kids, and being a decent father was possibly the most important thing to him. Sure, he hadn't really gotten around to thinking about it all too deeply. He had been focused on getting trained up to have a good job. He had a plan and he was doing things in order. Well, now the plan was turned upside down. He was here with his grown children, and he needed to adapt for however long he had. And in a way, most of the difficult part had already been done. He'd already been Albus dad for thirteen years. The only problem with that was... how could he have let his son grow up to be that naive? That innocent? That wasn't practical, or safe. It was something he had to address, and at some point he had to discuss it with Ginny. He wondered what her opinion of Albus was. He waited outside of the school, a backpack with everything they would need slung over his shoulder. To Harry, it hadn't been that long ago that he'd spent the better part of a year pitching a tent every week. He had learned a few other little tricks in auror training that would make it easier, and he'd also packed some yummy food. He wanted Albus to have as much fun as he remembered having with his dad. |
