Bill couldn't help his surprise when Fleur indicated that she would leave if there was someone else. He was suddenly worried that he had given her cause to think that there was. Abruptly, nothing else mattered. He knew that he was being foolish. He was afraid of being left alone again. But that didn't mean that he was going to sacrifice the time he could have with her.
He hastily gathered up Fleur's hands in his once again, raising them up so that he could press a soft kiss to her fingertips.
"I wear this for you," he murmured, indicating the wedding band that she had gotten him last time he was here. He had no idea if it looked like the band that he would wear in real life. "And there will only ever be you." He moved one hand to stroke her hair, tucking it behind her ear. "I love you." He leaned in to press a soft kiss to her forehead.
Their first anniversary -- which meant she was just shy of being pregnant with Victoire. She didn't know their daughter yet. But that was all right.
