Fleur nodded slight not knowing what else to say in response to his list of names. Of course she was glad he had most of his family there, it had to have been some comfort to him. She had seen his pain first hand when his brother had died in the war, it had been so bad it had broken her own heart to see him suffering so and not to be able to fix it. There were days when Fleur had thought the pain would kill them both.
"Can I?" What she was really asking was if he wanted her there, she didn't want to stay if she was unwelcome or unwanted especially by her husband. It hadn't even crossed her mind that they wouldn't be together as they always had been or so it seemed it. She had still been a school girl when they had met. Bill had been her first true love and would be her only one. "Or would you rather I leave? I mean if," Fleur found herself stumbling over the words she didn't want to say out of fear they were truth, "...It there is someone else... I'll, uh, leave." She dropped Bill's hand realizing maybe he didn't want her touch, he hadn't exactly been forthcoming with his affection; he hadn't even returned her earlier embrace.
Fleur looked at her feet a momen as she fought her conflicting emotions, "It's okay if you say no." A no would tear her apart but she wasn't about to tell him that. If he wanted her to let him go should would, if it's what he wanted Fleur would do it, it was how much she loved him. Again she twisted the wedding band on her finger.
"Back home we were getting ready to celebrate our first anniversary..." Fleur wasn't sure why she brought that up, as it as it may not mean anything to anyone there but her.
