Who: Teddy Lupin and Andromeda Tonks What: Teddy’s biting the bullet and telling Andromeda everything Where: Teddy’s cottage When: Evening
Teddy had put off the conversation for as long as he could, hoping that perhaps his mother would handle it (but then again, he wasn’t one hundred percent sure that she knew everything either, it was hard to keep up with who knew what and when), but it had broken Teddy’s heart to see her write to him about Grandpa Ted and realize that she was unaware that Teddy would never know the man, at least not in real life. Teddy was determined to handle this before she found out accidentally, or Bellatrix---who Teddy had accidentally told in his family ward--- became spiteful and tried to wound her. More importantly, he had to do it before he lost his nerve.
Teddy did what he usually did when he was nervous about something. He cooked. He cooked a lot more food than necessary. Later, he would give it to his roommate, but for now it allowed him to lose himself in something maddeningly simple. He’d made a chicken stir fry with rice, setting it into dishes at the center of the table before setting the rest of the table, even though he knew that likely no eating would get done after he told her about the future, and he couldn’t blame her, it was bleak, but at least they had each other? Teddy was anxious, so much though that it was a conscious struggle to keep his hair at an even teal (for fear that sight of his more natural brown tones would belie his worry of the conversations direction) and his face was painstakingly neutral. He’d checked the table about fifty times before moving to sit in the living room, waiting patiently for his Grandmother to arrive.
