Who: Theodore and Evan When: Tuesday, 11 September, after school. What: Theodore's teaching Evan the Dark Arts. Where: The Lestrange-Rosier house, then the forest. Rating: PG, potentially dark themes.
Theodore had the window open in his bedroom, leaning against the sill and smoking a cigarette slowly, watching the wisps of smoke curl around him briefly before evaporating into the air. The sensation calmed him, even though he was completely content. If that whole idiocy with Albus Severus Potter had taught him anything, it was that he needed to keep his emotions in check, and to be more aware of the eyes that'd doubtlessly be frowning in his direction. While, yes, he was rather bloody lonely because it'd felt like years since he'd seen Odin, and the thought of his family home's vast halls and mysterious grounds may have felt like a mystery, this was his home now, and he was happy here.
Theodore was thinking calmly about the whole situation. Obviously, Draco was feeling smothering because he had such a bad experience with the Dark Arts themselves, and in particular Fiendfyre, the spell Theodore had perfected. But Draco didn't see the Evan Theodore saw when they first met. The Dark Arts weren't his future. They were his past and present as well. Theodore knew that Evan missed his dad, he knew that feeling all too well. His dad might be dead, but it didn't stop him visiting his grave weekly and telling him what was going on. Evan's dad was into the Dark Arts as well, from what he'd heard about him through his father, and Theodore was sure Evan wanted to learn something that'd help keep him closer to his father. It was logical.
So, Theodore took his satchel with several books about the Dark Arts that he'd gathered for the occasion, stubbed the cigarette and walked downstairs. Bane poked his head up instantly, the puppies were roaming the forest for game, and Theodore would retrieve them on his way home from seeing Evan. He hesitated, wondering if he should take Bane too, but decided not to. Evan didn't take too kindly to him having dogs, he thought, which was probably one of the only things they didn't quite agree on (the other being their views on Herbology). He gave Bane a soft pat on the head, and the dog took hint, laying his head back down and going back to sleep, though one of his amber-red eyes was open a crack.
Theodore walked out, and made his way uneventfully to Bellatrix and Rabastan's house where Evan was currently staying. Evan should have been out of school by now as it was about an hour and a half after the classes ended and he would have come home. So Theodore knocked on the door, glancing casually down the rest of the lane whilst he was waiting for an answer.
