Radio Show
Who: Rose Zeller and whoever decides to participate
What: Rose's First Radio Show
Where: The Wireless
When: Backdated to Friday [the 26th] because of the crazy holidays
Rating: PG13 tops [mild language]
"Good afternoon all of you wonderful Villagites. Rose Zeller here for the first time, bringing you a full afternoon of music, entertainment, and my overly charming personality. Thank you so much for taking the time to tune in and I hope I'm not one to disappoint! Oh and also, I hope you all had a Happy Christmas! I know I certainly did!
To start off, in Village news, Draco Malfoy would like to extend his services to anyone interested in genealogy projects. Whether it's discovering those secret ties your grandmother never wanted you to know about to the guy down the street, or just having a keepsake for your own personal records, he's your man. And let me tell you, you couldn't find anyone better for this type of project. He does wonderful work. So give him a holler.
Next up, with this cold weather finally starting to seep in around us, make sure to bundle up and wear appropriate clothing. I'm more than sure the healers aren't interested in saving those bits you almost froze off and you're more than embarrassed to go in and tell them about it anyway. Also, in the coming weeks I'll be planning another winter wonderland trip. Yes, that is what I am calling it because that's how fabulous it is, so keep that idea in mind and have your quills ready to mark it on your calendar!
Finally, as New Years is fast approaching, don't forget to think about interesting New Year's Resolutions. They may seem silly, but at least it's something to strive for during the upcoming months, yeah?
Now for that block of music you've all been waiting for. I'll be back in a bit!
block of 4 songs
the Weird Sister's followed by the all witch group Spellbound
White Stripes
Spice Girls
Fade back in....
"Welcome back. Hope you all enjoyed that, I know I was rocking out.
Now on to a little segment I like to call, Helpful Health tips. Boring? Perhaps, but hey, as I already said, with the New Year coming up it might be just what you're looking for.
Rose's first tip is... Neuro-bics for your mind. You know, kind of like aerobics, but work out your brain instead. No, I did not coin that term, for the record, but I kind of wish I did. Basically, research has indicated that a number of new tasks you try can help activate new pathways in your mind strengthening and preserving circuits. Examples? Brush your teeth with your off hand, walk a new way to work, or even choose an outfit based on how it feels rather than by looking at it. Seems kind of silly, and with that last one you might end up looking a little crazy, but oddly enough, people with mental agility have lower rates of dementia and memory loss in old age. So keep that brain a cooking. I know I don't want you all losing your minds here in a few years. Things tend to be crazy enough as is!
Tip number two: This is going to be a favorite for a few of you out there, but knock back a glass of red wine daily. Studies indicate red wine, as well as other things but they're not nearly as fun to consume, contain antioxidants that protect from environmental carcinogens, and passive tobacco smoke. You're welcome. Though disclaimer, if you're underage, no drinking. I'm not going to jail for that one.
Tip three: Laugh your ass off. Well, not literally. But a number of studies have indicated that laughing actually boosts your immune system and helps stave off allergic reactions. And during cold and flu season, as well as a lack of sunlight from the weather, I think we could all use this one. The same studies also indicate that a good sob is just as good for you as well, for the record. Though I'm sure it'll be hard to convince a few people of that one.
Now for another block of music. When we come back, feel free to contact us on air [I'm assuming people still have devices that Lee created while he was here to 'call in' and/or Rose has mailed out more to new village members as well] and give us any of your helpful, healthy tips you've come across and would like to share. Or else just call in to chat, or give suggestions of future topics or music. Communication is key, people! And I'd love to hear from you!
Block of 5 songs:
Hit song from famous Witch artist Lady Spider, followed by Celestina Warbeck
Queen
All American Rejects
Weezer
Hope you all enjoyed that. I know personally I could rock out to Queen forever. I was born in the wrong musical era, obviously, but what can you do?
[If anyone wants to call in, comment below. Whether it's to suggest songs/topics for shows/randomly ramble/health tips/etc. That will be the remainder of the show]
Alright everyone, that's it for today. I hope you liked it, and if you didn't lie to me, babes. This is Rose Zeller, signing off. Have a happy New Year and don't do anything I wouldn't do!
