Who: Rose Zeller and Lorcan Scamander Where: Their house When: Christmas morning What: Rose is getting a special present! Rating: PG
Rose had spent the majority of Christmas eve trying her hand at baking sugar cookies. Only a little less than half came out burned, but the rest actually managed to be pretty decent. That was considered a huge success, in her eyes. Even though she wasn't home, and she wasn't with her mates, she decided that she had plenty to be happy for after talking to Lorcan. He reminded her how lucky she was to be here and to have him, because she didn't get that anywhere else. Though they seemed to be complete opposites, the chemistry they had couldn't be denied, and perhaps it was because they managed to balance each other out so well. But whatever it was, Rose couldn't help but finally put a smile on her face while spending Christmas eve frosting cookies and throwing flour and frosting at her boyfriend when he wasn't looking. It might have ended in a small food fight. She had to be ridiculously childish, okay?
After showering and falling asleep next to Lorcan for the evening, she awoke on Christmas morning refreshed and actually somewhat excited for the day ahead of her. She had friends here who made everything better, and Lorcan had his family, who she loved spending time with as well. It was an amazing dynamic between all of them, even if they were all wonky ages. It made her wish that her family at home had been functional, but this worked too. At least she got to experience it somewhere.
So even though her hair was an absolute mess and she hadn't even gotten dressed, she rolled over and gently climbed on top of her boyfriend, nuzzling into his neck and kissing his cheekbone and lips softly as to not startle him to death. "Happy Christmas, loverboy," she told him softly in his ear, kissing him a bit more before sitting up on top of him and smiling down with a ridiculously large grin.
"Get up! Get up! Presents!" she chimed a bit louder, back to her usual, obnoxiously immature self. Because even if Christmas sucked sometimes, presents still existed. And they had been sitting under their tiny little tree for the past few days now and Rose was rearing to go.
