WHO: Neville & Alice Longbottom
WHAT: Neville arrives
WHEN: 23 December, 8 PM
WHERE: Outside #28
RATING: Likely sad, but pretty low
STATUS: Closed//Ongoing
Neville blinked and looked around. He was outside, and it was snowing. If he didn't know that aparation and portkeys didn't work inside Hogwarts, he would have suspected Malofy and his goons for this. Because he wasn't where he had been a moment ago, and it was definitely not September.
He wasn't good at heating charms. If he'd tried, he likely would have taken his eyebrows off the way Seamus always seemed to do, so the wand in his pocket was pretty useless. It was useless in his hand anyway. He was only 14, but he knew he wasn't ever going to be a great wizard. He wasn't even a good Gryffindor. None of his other classmates were upset about Professor Moody's lesson. None of the others really know what it's like, a voice in his mind whispered.
Neville shivered and wrapped his arms around his middle as he began to walk. He didn't know where he was going, but he saw lights glowing and thought it was a good place to start. Maybe the people--if there were people who were good--could tell him how to get back to the school before anyone realised he was gone and told his gran.
As he neared the lights, he saw that they were houses, and a sign told him he was on Collings Ave. When he got to the corner, he looked left then right. Two houses to the right, Neville spotted a woman standing with her back to him. He quickly made his way to her, hopeful that he wouldn't have to knock on any doors. He wasn't good at that sort of thing. Disturbing people at home, not knocking. He tripped over his robes a little but managed to stay upright.
"Ex-excuse me?" He stammered from the cold and nerves. "I'm lost. Ca-can you help?" He didn't want to mention Hogwarts in case she was a Muggle. If the light had been better, he might have recognised the back of her head, but it wasn't, and he was focused on keeping his teeth from chattering too much.
