It was a familiar ritual, one Dorea often engaged in at home. Usually it was Charlus who either pulled her from or joined her in it. So lost in her thoughts was she that when she heard movement outside her closet door Dorea half expected it to be him. After all, draped in his sweater and surrounded in his scent as she was, it was easy to fool herself. Of course it wasn't Charlus as that was impossible. He wasn't here. Cassiopeia was. It was her sister who opened the door, two cups of milk in hand, ready to join her in her sulking.
"Milk was too difficult to sneak. It never became an ingrained habit." Dorea replied sulkily, as she would have when they were children. She twirled her spoon in the frosting, looking up at Cass as she sat down across from her with their feet touching. It felt odd to have her sister so close, in such a confined space. It was not a space they had shared in many years and even then it was usually reserved for Marius. At her questioning Dorea frowned, upending her spoon once more and shoveling a large mouthful of frosting between her lips. It was only after she swallowed that she answered her sister moodily.
"My sons friend, a Mr. Remus Lupin, was very rude to my grandson over those silly journal devices and when I took to expressing my feelings on the matter he turned his poor manners on me." Dorea informed her sister, stabbing her spoon into the jar over and over again. "He refused to listen to my feelings on the matter and insisted I was biased towards one family member over the other despite not even knowing me." Dorea clenched her jaw, much like she had when she was a child, her knuckles turning white where she gripped her spoon. "He was terribly rude. Not only did he speak poorly to my darling Harry on a public platform, but he spoke poorly to me when he does not even know me. I know he is a friend of both James and Sirius', but in this he executed very poor manners. I know I don't know the entire story, but still." Dorea said with a huff, looking to Cassiopeia, unsure why she was telling her sister all this.
