Peter's soft remark made the brightness of Gellert's gaze fade a bit with barely repressed resentment, and also disappointment. He knew why Peter had friends now, because he'd begun to conform to their insipid expectations. He hadn't been following Peter around of late, yes, but he had still seen the changes from harmless observing during his usual day to day schedule. So he made no remark about the friends, instead ignoring it.
Gellert couldn't help but actually laugh, although he managed to make it sound enough like a disappointed one. "Its irrelevant. It won't happen for me now. The only thing everybody cares about is my name, and that brands me for all eternity as unchangable." He picked up the brown paper bag properly now, tucking it under his right arm. "I didn't expect you to think differently either, Peter. And I don't expect a change in treatment. Wouldn't want to destroy how well it is all going for you, now would I?"
