Of the many things Dorea had expected her ten year wedding anniversary with Charlus to hold, this certainly had not fallen within the realm of it. At first she had thought Charlus had turned his sweater into a Portkey when she had turned up in the village, of all the ridiculous things to turn into a Portkey. It was delightful of course, a very Charlus thing to do, and when the journal had appeared at her feet she had naturally written her husband in the hopes that he would respond or appear to take credit for his clever, romantic gesture. When he had not and she had instead found herself with a flood of comments from people who were distinctly not her husband she was left adrift, sorting through impossible things and trying to break the surface to catch her breath. Every time she thought she had a grasp on where she was, something else would change. A village created by ancient magic that existed outside of time and space. A village without Charlus. A village with people from all different times and places. It was absolutely mad and Dorea longed for Charlus to appear beside her to help her make sense of it all, so she could not have to go through it alone, but for the first time in ten years she was without him.
What was even more baffling was the people from the future, claiming all sorts of things. There were, apparently, additional Potters which Dorea didn't quite understand given her condition. Then there was Sirius who called her Mum, a title Dorea didn't think she'd ever earn for the same reason she didn't think there would ever be another Potter. The news that he was Pollux's grandson had led her to believe that perhaps he too was a squib like Marius and when her brother had learned of it he had been disowned and given to Dorea to raise. As much as it hurt Dorea to know her family still behaved to barbarically, she delighted at the thought of having a child of her own to love and look after. She would get to be a Mum.
She still felt nervous and jittery, turned upside down at her recent relocation and all the information that had been thrown at her. The fact that her son was coming to get her didn't help matters. It only made her nerves worse. She was hardly dressed to meet her future child. She was dressed to go out dancing in a thin strapped, blue silk dress that Charlus had given her for last birthday. Her dark hair was partially up, loose curls hanging lightly down around her face as she pulled Charlus' cardigan more tightly around herself. Her heels were beginning to hurt, but there was no where to sit and her feet were hardly the thing to focus on here. The things to focus on were too many and varied. Her head was beginning to hurt. Reaching a well manicured hand up, she massaged her forehead and took a deep breath. She could do this. She was Dorea Potter.
